Do you show your horse? Do you know anyone else who does? Wouldn't it be fun to try to have your own show? You could pick your rules, plan it out, and have things just the way you want them. You could choose the judge! You could decide on what classes to have at your show.
Do you think it would be too hard for you to do it yourself? Do you think you don't know enough about it to try? I'm here to tell you, it's not as hard as you think. If you have all the information you need to know in order to have a horse show, you could be ready to go for it in no time.
There are a lot of reasons why you might want to have your own horse show. Some people have one to generate an income. We had shows for 10 years for that very purpose. Some worked out well. Some didn't do as well. There were many things that seemed to influence how well we did. We discovered after a couple of years, not to try it in January or February in Ohio. It was usually too cold, and no one wanted to haul their horses. I really didn't blame them! I wouldn't want to either!
Being involved in running a horse show can be exciting, rewarding, and very enjoyable. You can develop friendships with the people you work with and the people you are working for, that is, your horse show entries. It makes you feel pretty good when people you met for the first time at your horse show, call you back and ask you when the next one is, and tell you how much they and their children enjoyed themselves at your horse show.
